Within the framework of the high-end technology conference “Safe Artificial Intelligence – A Form of Responsible Innovation” that took place recently in Hanoi, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) announced its success. Established AI Ethics Committee.
The event was witnessed by Professor Yoshua Bengio (University of Montréal and Mila Institute), who is known as one of the “fathers of AI”, leader of VINASA and leaders of several member companies of VINASA.
In addition to developing risk assessment policies and standards, the committee also acts as a bridge for international cooperation and advises the Government of Vietnam.
In the context of governments and international organizations around the world prioritizing the development of strict regulations and ethical frameworks for AI, this initiative reflects Vietnam’s strong commitment to accompanying international community to address the complex challenges and opportunities that AI brings.
Global initiatives such as the EU AI Law, OECD AI Principles and UNESCO Ethical AI Recommendations set important standards for transparency, accountability and fairness in governance WHO.
Professor Yoshua Bengio said as we continue to explore the transformative potential of AI, it is important to prioritize safety and ethical standards.
“By building a community committed to the ethical use of AI, we can drive progress and innovation for social good, while minimizing the risks of automated systems. Establishing the AI Ethics Committee is an important step to bring Vietnam towards the goal of a future of AI development consistent with global standards of transparency, responsibility and social benefits.
